Internet culture is rarely straightforward. Trends that sweep through TikTok FYPs aren't always clear, and sometimes, why they've gone viral is even less clear. The latest in this line? Saying "bacon avocado" as fast as possible.

TikTokkers are saying the phrase "bacon avocado" at rapid speed, but following these words comes a hidden message said in slow motion. These words are usually some sort of meme, opinion, or insight. So "bacon avocado" is a cover-up for whatever follows.

Take, for example, creator @maradriellaa, who used the trend to voice her take on Netflix's Squid Game. Or creators who have something to say to (presumably) an ex. Others say viral lines from movies and TV shows.

This may end up being another short-lived TikTok trend of the summer. But in the meantime, there's more entertaining content for some of us to enjoy.
