Teens, the arbiters of Internet culture, have found a fun new way to mortify themselves online: the #BananaPeelChallenge.

It began with Twitter user Jason Oakes, who filmed his attempts to confirm the cartoon trope that bananas are, indeed, slippery.

The resulting clip is a gift:

Oakes' video, first posted on Sunday night, has since garnered thousands of retweets, and inspired other teens to try their own.

They've since dubbed the meme #BananaPeelChallenge.

This isn't the first time teens have sparked new trends out of self-inflicted injury. In 2015, the Kylie Jenner lip challenge had people sucking on shot glasses to achieve fuller-looking lips. The results, as you'll recall, were not great.

Stay safe out there, teens.
