Bananas foster is the easiest ice cream cake you'll make

This ice cream cake is inspired by New Orleans restaurant Brennan's legendary dessert, bananas foster. It was named for the owner's friend (and New Orleans crime commission chairman) Richard Foster. The original recipe includes bananas, rum, sugar, flambé action and, of course, ice cream.
This version takes inspiration from those sweet banana and caramel notes and translates them into a simply prepared cake. All you need is time to let the layers freeze. Overnight is best, but you can complete it in about six hours, if necessary.
There's nothing like the real bananas foster, but for a cake with way less chance of burning down your kitchen, this is the way to go.
