President Obama left the White House on Friday to head to Chicago, but as he was en route to board Marine One he realized he was missing something: his phone.

An extremely relatable Obama patted himself down, had a quick moment of panic and realized that before he could go any further he needed to turn around and sprint to retrieve his beloved communication device.

It's okay, Obama -- we've all been there.

While it was initially unclear what Obama had forgotten, the item was later confirmed to be his cellphone.

According to a pool report from George Condon, the White House correspondent for National Journal, Obama exited the Oval Office at 11:11 a.m. and made it as far as the playground equipment before spinning around and swiftly returning to the office.

The report stated that the president emerged from the Oval Office thirty seconds later holding his forgotten cellphone and happily waving.

After the very eventful morning, Knoller later announced that Obama had safely landed in Chicago and was off to a fundraiser.

Believe it or not, this isn't Obama's first forgotten cellphone incident. Back in November 2014 the president made a similarly memorable scene when he literally sprinted back to the White House to retrieve his BlackBerry.

"Didn't you guys ever forget something?" the considerate president asked a group of Secret Service agents after returning with his phone. "I forgot my BlackBerry," he said, smiling and holding the device proudly in the air.

At least we can all rest peacefully knowing that not even the leader of the free world can leave home without his phone.

Thanks, Obama.
