This insane ink is the work of New Zealand tattooist Steve Butcher, who has made a name for himself recreating lifelike depictions of NBA sporting legends and highlights.
From recent moments such as Kobe Bryant's retirement from the game, to depictions of eternal greats such as Michael Jordan, we're in awe of Butcher's eye for detail and artistry.

According to an interview Butcher did with Inked Magazine, he's self-taught, which one wouldn't have guessed based off his work.
Apparently, each of these tattoos takes 12 to 16 hours to complete. Considering the detail that goes into the pieces, we think Butcher is a beast of a tattoo artist to be able to achieve so in such a short amount of time.
