BB-8 bows to Princes William and Harry, and all they did was laugh at him

If this had of been R2-D2, they would have been sassed harder than a Toydarian junk dealer after a pod race.

BB-8, well-mannered, respectful astromech droid, knows the protocol of a royal greeting when such an occasion arises.

Pity two certain princes didn't play ball.

At the premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi at London's Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday night, Princes Harry and William were in attendance as the event was hosted in aid of The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

While on the red carpet, a remote-controlled replica of delightful droid BB-8 rolled up to the distinguished royal guests, and bowed. Twice.

And all they did was laugh at him.

Both princes awkwardly shuffled, laughed, and then ignored BB-8.

BB-8, being a polite guest and, y'know, a crucial player in delivering Resistance intelligence and subsequently fighting the First Order, rolled on. But if this had been R2-D2 on the red carpet, the British royals would have been sassed harder than a Toydarian junk dealer after a pod race.

And guys, this wasn't even the first time the princes had met BB-8. The two had visited the Star Wars set at Pinewood Studios in 2016.

Look! You're old friends! So, not even a wave, guys?

The royals moved along the red carpet, stopped for a quick chat to human stars Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley, then into the Royal Albert Hall for the screening.

Look, BB-8 has bigger galactic fish to fry, we're sure he'll be fine.
