Bathwater seller Belle Delphine's Instagram account was removed for 'nudity or pornography'

Instagram says they don't take down accounts because of mass reporting.

Instagram removed Belle Delphine's account on Thursday night for violating its terms of service after users reported her for "nudity or pornography."

Delphine went viral recently for promising to make a Pornhub account if her Instagram post received one million likes. She followed through with making the account, but trolled her horny followers with titles like "Belle Delphine plays with her PUSSY" and recording herself playing with plush cats. A month later, she continued her grift by selling her own "GamerGirl Bath Water." Her Instagram photos were lewd, but never showed full nudity.

Several people are taking credit for the takedown, though its likely anyone who reported the account received a message saying it was removed.

"I just deleted an account that had 4.5 million fans I'm gonna get a lot of hate," Instagram user @athlete_thedog said in a post.

On Reddit, another user claimed their friend "Noah" was responsible.

Although multiple people claim to have reported Delphine's account, Instagram says it doesn't remove an account just because of a mass reporting campaign. Also known as brigading, groups of people will harass another group or individual online by reporting them, commenting on their content, or downvoting their posts.

In an email to Mashable, a Facebook spokesperson noted that Instagram will take down an account based on just one report, if the account's content violates the platform's policies. But if an account receives multiple reports and doesn't violate Instagram's policies, the platform will leave it alone.

At a certain point, the representative added, Instagram will begin ignoring reports for accounts that don't violate its policies but continue to be brigaded.

The spokesperson did not respond when asked if Delphine's account is just on a temporary suspension or will be permanently banned. Her Patreon, Twitter, and YouTube channels are still active.
