Ben Affleck confirms his massive back tattoo of a phoenix is fake

Minor faith in Ben Affleck restored. 

During an press interview for Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice -- Affleck plays Batman -- with Extra TV, the actor confirmed the massive back tattoo of a phoenix that he was recently spotted with was "fake for a movie."

The tattoo caused uproar on the Internet and with two of his former loves for being, well, hideous. 

Luckily, Affleck said, the giant bird only existed for his movie Live By Night, costarring Zoe Saldana, Scott Eastwood and Elle Fanning.

“I actually do have a number of tattoos…but I try to have them in places where you don’t have to do a lot of cover up…they get sort of addictive, tattoos, after a while,” he said.  

And, like his phoenix spirit animal, our love for Ben rises from the ashes.
