We can only assume that most anyone shopping for a robot vacuum is in it for the convenience aspect. And a majority of those people probably wouldn't complain about that convenience going a step further with self-emptying robot vacuum.
Automatic emptying happens each time the robot vacuum finishes cleaning and empties its onboard dust bin into a bigger canister inside the same dock it charges on. This relieves you of interacting with that ball of mystery debris that previously needed to be manually dumped into the trash. Depending on your cleaning routine and that particular dock's capacity, you could be off the hook anyway from six weeks to six months.
