It's Best Buy's 50th birthday, and that means cheaper iPhones, MacBook Pros and PS4s
The first Best Buy store opened on Aug. 22, 1966, meaning the retail chain's 50th birthday is just around the corner. To celebrate, Best Buy has launched a 50-hour sale featuring 50 deals, mostly on tech products.
The sale starts at 10 p.m. Central Time Thursday, Aug. 18, and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20.
"Nearly all" the deals, which include discounts on the MacBook Pro, iPhone 6S/6S Plus, Beats headphones and Samsung TVs, are available both in-store and on Best Buy's website.

The deals are substantial, but the most attractive ones are for Apple's due-to-be-replaced-soon products, such as the iPhone and the MacBook Pro, which, frankly, should be discounted anyways. Here are some of the highlights:
$150 discount on some MacBook Pro models
iPhone 6S for $1 or an iPhone 6S Plus for $99.99 with a two-year Sprint or Verizon contract
$400 discount on a 65-inch Samsung 4K UHD TV
PlayStation 4 "Call of Duty" bundle with a free Destiny and another two free games of your choice
A $50 gift card with purchase of a Swagtron T1 hoverboard (only available online)
A $50 discount on Garmin's Vivosmart HR activity tracker
