This is (probably) your last chance to get an NES Classic before the holidays

One of the hottest gadgets for Christmas 2016 is going to be available for probably the last time before Christmas as Best Buy will be selling a small number of Nintendo's NES Classic systems in stores on Tuesday.

The highly anticipated gaming station, featuring 30 classic games from the original Nintendo Entertainment System, has been so popular this holiday shopping season that most buyers have had to resort to outlandish secondary market prices.

But retail giant Best Buy is trying to help you out by selling a limited number of the systems in stores on Tuesday. With no online option, that means many have had to go the old school route of lining up outside the stores for the chance to get their hands on the old school system.

Of course, waiting in line in below-freezing December weather doesn't guarantee you an NES Classic, just the chance to have an opportunity to buy one as the store says they'll hand out tickets to those waiting in line and then sell the systems on a first-come, first-serve basis.

How many of the consoles each store will have, being sold at the suggested retail price of $59.99 (as listed on the Best Buy online store) is unknown; a Best Buy rep told Mashable that the company doesn't comment on inventory.

Overall, it seems supplies were limited to a little over a dozen to a few dozen at most stores.

One person in Houston reported that store got only 16 units.

If you miss out at the chance to pin one down, there may still be a chance. A Best Buy rep replied to the above user with the message that there may be more inventory of the system coming to stores in the days before Christmas.
