Amazon Prime Day is officially here. While there were plenty of early deals, we've been waiting for Prime Day proper to see the deals on Amazon devices — Kindles especially. However, now that the deals are here, they're...okay. Don't get us wrong, the deals are good, but we have seen better — especially on other tablets right now. You can find all discounts marked down, but none are at their lowest price ever. However, if you're itching for an e-reader, a Kindle is still the best.
As much as we love the feel of physical books, a Kindle just makes more sense nowadays, especially if you like to read on the go, read between books before you finish them, or have a back-up book on deck. If you're going through books too quickly, an e-reader that can store hundreds of books, while being easy on your eyes and not needing to be plugged in all the time might be the ideal option for you.
There hasn't been a new Kindle model since the 2022 entry-level Amazon Kindle refresh, so we'd love to expect greater discounts than ever before. However, we saw the lowest price ever on the Kindle Paperwhite last Prime Day, and then smaller discounts for Amazon's October Prime Day and Black Friday. We didn't expect to see record-low prices this summer, at least not on the Kindle Paperwhite, and that's what the deals reflect.
