LONDON -- Beyoncé has paid an emotional tribute to Alton Sterling and Philando Castile -- the two black men fatally shot by U.S. police in Baton Rouge and Minnesota -- during her Thursday night concert in Glasgow, Scotland.

The singer addressed the crowd, paused for a moment of silence, and then launched into a rendition of "Freedom" while the names of shooting victims appeared on a giant screen in front of the audience.

Beyonce released a statement on her website on Thursday condemning the "war on people of color and all minorities."

"We're going to stand up as a community and fight against anyone who believes that murder or an violent action by those who are sworn to protect us should consistently go unpunished," reads the statement.

"While we pray for the families of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, we will also pray for an end to this plague of injustice in our communities."
