Ring the alarm: Beyoncé received an Emmy nomination for directing her masterpiece, Lemonade.

Kahil Joseph shares the nod with her, and the special is nominated for four awards in total, including Outstanding Variety Special, Outstanding Production Design For A Variety, Nonfiction, Event Or Award Special and Outstanding Picture Editing For Variety Programming.

They're up against Chris Rock for directing Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo, Beth McCarthy for Adele Live in New York City, Louis J. Horvitz for The 58th Annual Grammy Awards, Alex Rudzinski and Thomas Kail for Grease Live and Glenn Weiss for The Kennedy Center Honors.

But those people, while very accomplished, are not Beyoncé.

Beyoncé has previously been nominated for her 2015 Super Bowl halftime performance and her tour documentary with Jay Z, On the Run, that also appeared on HBO, but Lemonade eclipsed both those efforts in critical and popular success so this could be her year.

Now it's time to speculate when Queen Bey will get her EGOT.

Bey already has 20 Grammys for her work as a solo artist and a member of Destiny's Child, so that's taken care of.

Lemonade isn't eligible for an Oscar according to the Academy's current rules that require a theatrical release. If by some Bey Hive magic, the film industry followed in the Grammy's footsteps and changed the rules to keep up with the times, Lemonade would have a shot. But the Academy Awards aren't really known for being progressive, so don't count your lemons before they're lemonade.

Her best bet to Oscar glory is to pen an original song for an awards-worthy biopic of some kind -- the Academy tends to like those.

That just leaves the Tonys. Bey could act on Broadway, but she could also receive a nomination, like Billy Joel, for a musical based on her discography. Lemonade, conveniently, is already a story should she be so kind as to bless us with a devastating stage show about marital discord with baseball bat choreography.
