'Big Dick Energy' is the internet's new term for a certain kind of swagger
Some people carry certain kind of swagger and the internet has found a term to describe it: Big Dick Energy, or BDE.
It all sparked from a Twitter reply from pop queen Ariana Grande (which has since been deleted), reportedly claiming her fiancé, SNL comedian Pete Davidson, was a *big boy* down there.
In the ensuing days, the term Big Dick Energy has been used to describe a quality which comes from the security of having a huge penis.
Here's how The Cut's Allison P. David eloquently defined the characteristics of BDE:
"BDE is a quiet confidence and ease with oneself that comes from knowing you have an enormous penis and you know what to do with it. It’s not cockiness, it’s not a power trip — it’s the opposite: a healthy, satisfied, low-key way you feel yourself. Some may call this 'oh he/she fucks' vibe, but that is different: you can fuck, but not have BDE. Some may call this 'well-adjusted,' but we know the truth."
Davidson, a comedian who some might not consider a typical Hollywood hunk, still has the swagger of someone that has well, BDE.

Despite the word dick in the term, Big Dick Energy isn't necessarily confined to the male sex.
So who has Big Dick Energy? People are saying Cate Blanchett does. Anthony Bourdain too. Hell, even Tony the Tiger and the Microsoft paper clip has it. Maybe even Jesus too.

Who knows why Big Dick Energy has such an appeal on the internet. It might just be a flash in the pan, but it's the best way to describe a quiet confidence that allows you do what you want to do, without being overbearing.
The opposite of Big Dick Energy, as David explains, is someone who is "cocky, petty, loud." Little Dick Energy or Mediocre Dick Energy, if you'd like.
