Steve Miller may find the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction process "unpleasant," but for the Black Keys, who inducted the Steve Miller Band, "the most unpleasant part was being around him."

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney said they entirely regret inducting Steve Miller into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

"He had no idea who we were. No idea,"  Auerbach said. "The first thing he told us was, 'I can't wait to get out of here.' He knew that we signed up to do this speech for him. And he made no effort to even [laughs uncomfortably] — he didn't even figure out who we were. I don't live in New York City. This is like three days out of my life flying from Nashville and leaving my kids at home."

After Miller found out who was inducting him, Auerbach said he made a "very mild" and "disingenuous" attempt to say something to the band.

"It almost made it feel worse," he said. "He said, 'The whole process was unpleasant.' And for Pat and I, honestly, the most unpleasant part was being around him."

He added that he and his bandmates "left the f*cking building" as soon as they got done with their speech, while Miller was still playing.

Auerbach also addressed his comments to reporters, in which he said that everybody in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame "is kind of a dick and an asshole."

"There's a time and a place to stand up and be angry. But when people are honoring you for how great you are, that's not the f*cking time or place," Auerbach said. "It was the only story everyone talked about. It overshadowed Kendrick [Lamar]'s message of positivity and it's totally unfortunate. And I hated being a part of that. I hated the feeling in my gut of being connected to that negativity."

The Black Keys-Steve Miller feud isn't the only one to come out of Friday's ceremony. N.W.A. and Gene Simmons are still going back and forth over comments MC Ren directed at the KISS frontman.
