BlackBerry Priv, the company's first Android phone, has finally escaped AT&T's clutches and is now also available on Verizon.

The device starts at $30 per month for the 24-month plan, or the full retail price of $720.

Launched in November 2015, the Priv marked a big change of strategy for the company, running a customized version of Android and combining a large touchscreen with a slider keyboard.

The 5.43-inch phone runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 808 chip and comes with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (expandable via microSD cards), an 18-megapixel rear camera and 3,410mAh battery.

The Verizon launch follows BlackBerry CEO John Chen's confirmation in January that the Priv will soon become available on Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint.
