Blood floods a family's basement and we could not be more horrified

No, we're not kidding.

Halloween horror came early for one Iowa family when their basement flooded with five inches of animal blood.

According to WHO Channel 13 News, the flood happened after a meat locker next to the family's home discarded animal blood, fat, and bones down a floor drain that likely connects to the Lestina family's pipe system, although an investigation is ongoing.

The meat locker's supposed response to the Lestina family? "Good luck."

That's truly the last thing anybody wants to be told when their basement is a mess of animal blood and guts -- and clearly Twitter delivered plenty of noteworthy reactions.

Just another day in Iowa?

Will not be attending.

*Standing ovation ensues*

To put even more of a damper on things, Channel 13 also reported that the blood ruined various items in the basement, including a bed the family was saving for their toddler. We'll go ahead and bet he won't want it anymore, as gnarly and mystically metal as a "blood bed" sounds.

"Blood basement," however, could be the perfect location for any horror movie location scouts looking for their next set. Ya hear that, Saw producers?
