'Parasite' director Bong Joon-ho became a proud dad meme

The cast's historic SAG award win had Bong beaming.

Bong Joon-ho is the dad you've always wanted to make proud.

His black comedy Parasite made history on Sunday night when it won the Screen Actors' Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. It's the first non-English film to win the award. Director Bong Joon-ho couldn't be more proud — like a parent recording his kids' first steps, he whipped out his phone and took pictures of his cast throughout the ceremony.

The cast and director celebrated backstage with cheering.

Bong, the legend who once called the Oscars "local," was also spotted recording his cast signing autographs. It's some extremely pure dad energy, and we love to see it.

Can it get any more wholesome than this? Notice he's not only filming horizontally, but he's also using his middle finger to stabilize the phone. He assumed perfect posture for the best angles. He's keeping his fingertips out of frame. Bong Joon-ho joins the ranks of Kris Jenner and Regina George's mom as momager masters.

Pet owners can relate, too.

Parasite is also nominated for a number of Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Even if it's a bit local for his tastes, I'm banking on Bong's proud dad energy to come through again.
