Over the last few weeks, the World Cup has sent everyone into a football frenzy. So much so that other popular leisure activities are starting to feel somewhat left out.

Books, for instance. On Wednesday, the folks at UK book publisher Canongate decided to make their feelings clear when they live-tweeted the England vs. Croatia semi-final.

Needless to say, they really didn't hold back.

Then, when the tide turned and Croatia equalised in the second half, things took an even more brutal turn.

As extra time loomed and the score was still tied, the tension started to rise.

Then, ultimately, England was defeated. And amidst the widespread misery, Canongate had one final message.

Looks like books are coming home after all.
