Delicate botanical tattoos are perfect for people who forget to water real plants
Unlike your poor, dead succulent, a botanical tattoo will never wilt.
Ukrainian illustrator and tattoo artist Rita Zolotukhina bases many of her "botanical fingerprint" designs on actual plants — flowers, leaves, even little ferns. To create each tattoo, she presses the live plant, dipped in ink, on her customer's body, then tattoos the skin based on its imprint.
“We don’t know the definitive look when we start, just the colors, the mood and basic shape," she told Illusion. "It’s my favorite way to make tattoos, and I think the most natural."
