What horrible quality unites all bottled cleaning items like shampoo, conditioner and liquid detergent? It is virtually impossible to get the last drops out.

And so, you end up wasting product and more importantly, money.

Luckily, researchers from The Ohio State University are on a mission to remove that tiny frustration from our lives with their latest invention.

Engineers Bharat Bhushan and Philip Brown have a treatment in development that will coat plastic bottles and allow soap to cleanly and entirely flow out.

According to the University's website, "The technique involves lining a plastic bottle with microscopic y-shaped structures that cradle the droplets of soap aloft above tiny air pockets, so that the soap never actually touches the inside of the bottle."

The extremely satisfying video shows droplets of soap cleanly sliding off of slabs of plastic coated with Bhushan and Brown's new texture.

In addition to saving consumers money, the engineers' invention will also aid with recycling. Because plastic bottles need to be clean before they're recycled, people often just throw them away.

These bottles will be completely empty and clean when all the product is squeezed out, meaning more plastic bottles will be recycled.

The bottles are not in existence yet, but the University hopes to continue to develop the coating technique and then license it to manufacturers.

If these bottles become the norm, worldwide stress levels just might decrease a little.
