This little boy reuniting with his doggie best friend will make you ugly cry

The bond between a kid and a pet is so pure and unbreakable that nothing and no one would dare come between them.

This is infinitely true for Lennox, a boy who shares an everlasting bond with Bogart, his next-door neighbor dog best friend.

Bogart the dog and Lennox the boy were inseparable from the very beginning. Lennox's mom, Ellen, said,"Lennox and Bogart became instant friends over the chain link fence as soon as my neighbor moved in. We got to know Bogart first and left a Post-it on her front door introducing ourselves, telling her we had already become friends with her dog. From that day on, whenever she was out walking Bogart, Lennox would dash out the front door and full body hug Bogart."

Although Lennox already had his own dog, Happy, Bogart became Lennox's outdoor playmate. "Happy isn't a play in the back yard type of dog," Ellen said. "Happy doesn't like to fetch or play with a ball, so when Lennox got to really play with a dog, Bogart took a new place in Lennox's heart. Lennox still adores Happy, but he's just a different kind of dog."

Bogart became Lennox's protector, even guarding him against the much smaller Happy. Ellen explained, "When we've had Bogart and Happy together, Happy has barked at Bogart and Bogart has physically blocked Lennox between two deck chairs and refused to let Happy near him, like he's protecting Lennox from the crazy barking dog. When Lennox would try to go around and out the side of the chairs, Bogart would move and still keep him "safe" from Happy."

The pals were forced to separate when Bogart moved to another state while his owner travelled for a year. Lennox and his mom set an alarm early on the day of Bogart's flight to California so Lennox could play with him and tire him out before he took off. "We bought Bogart a deer antler to take with him, just so Lennox could feel like something would be with Bogart to remind him of Lennox," Ellen said. Lennox was absolutely devastated to have to say goodbye to his pup pal for such a long time and prayed for his return every night.

But the long year is up and Lennox finally got to see Bogart again. Lennox's mom and Bogart's owner set up the wonderful surprise. "On Saturday, my neighbor let me know that Bogart was back, so together we planned to surprise Lennox," Ellen said. "I told him she had something she wanted to show him, so when he was walking through her house, he had absolutely no idea Bogart would be in the back yard."

His reaction is so priceless, it'll make you tear up. Ellen captured the sweet reunion and posted the video on Facebook.

A year ago our neighbor had to take her dog to live in another state while she traveled and my son stood in her yard and cried as they drove away. We didn't think the dog would be gone for so long but my son has prayed for his beloved canine friend every single night since he left. Today we got the wonderful surprise that Bogart is back. I was able to get some video and you can tell they love each other. 👦💛🐶😭 p.s. He does have a dog of his own. ;-)

The BFFs are so happy to see each other that they just can't contain their excitement. Lennox greets Bogart with happy tears and scratchies, while the doggie meets Lennox with lots of kissies, huggies, and jumpies.

"Lennox says that day felt like his birthday, and he's so incredibly happy to be able to play with Bogart again," Ellen explained. "Our neighbor says any time Bogart is in the yard, he can hop over the fence and play with him. After the last time he played with Bogart he told me, 'Bogart wasn't just smiling, he was actually grinning when we were done.'"
