Here's the 'Game of Thrones' flashback detail you may have missed
Warning: Contains spoilers from Game of Thrones Season 6, Episode 5.
LONDON -- When it comes to Bran's flashbacks, the devil is in the detail.
In Sunday's Game of Thrones episode, though, there was so much Hodor-based action going on that it was easy to overlook some of the other stuff.

During Bran's first flashback (the one that really sparked his curiosity and kicked off all the trouble later), the camera panned past a face carved into a weirwood tree.
Here's another look at the face.
Yep, that's right: as Redditor McPlr8 pointed out in r/gameofthrones, the tree is pretty much a dead ringer for the Three-Eyed Raven.
See, look.
Which means what, exactly?
Well, obviously the implication is that the Three-Eyed Raven is super old (so old that even the Children of the Forest were carving his face into their trees), but we already sort of knew that, didn't we?
For the Children of the Forest to have been able to carve his face, though, they must have seen him before -- so we know that he's been popping up for a long time throughout the history of Westeros and (probably) influencing events.
The heart trees are thought of as holy in the north, too, so the fact that his face has been carved into one almost places him on the level of a god.
Now that Bran has supposedly taken the Three-Eyed Raven's place, that gives us an idea of the type of power he's going to be wielding before too long.
