Australian athlete Brandon Starc's performance in Rio has been bolstered by waves of support from Game of Thrones fans, due to the Olympian sharing a name (minus the "k") with their beloved Three-Eyed Raven and now-youngest surviving member of House Stark.

The high jumping finalist has even sparked his own hashtag #HouseStarc, full of encouraging messages and peppered with jokes that any dad would be proud of.

The twitter accounts of media outlets were also served up a luscious pairing of fandom and sass.
