After a motorcycle breakdown left Bruce Springsteen stranded by the side of a New Jersey road, a group of bike-riding veterans aided the musician in finding his way home.

According to a Facebook post from the Freehold American Legion Post 54, Dan Barkalow, Bob Grigs -- both of them Post 54 riders -- and Ryan Bailey were out for a Veterans Day ride when they came across a motorcyclist stranded roadside near New Jersey's Allaire State Park.

Barkalow pulled up to assist the motorcyclist and was surprised to meet Springsteen -- a native of Freehold Borough -- whose bike had broken down.

Springsteen hopped on the back of Bailey's bike, and the veterans escorted the musician to a nearby restaurant, where they shared a round of beers and waited for Springsteen's ride home.

"Dan stated that Bruce was a very down to earth regular guy who fit right in with his fellow, not so famous, Freehold boys," the post reads. "Bruce did take their names and telephone numbers, so maybe they'll be riding together some day!"

"It was nice to help out," Barkalow told NBC 4 New York. "One Freehold person helping out another."
