The worst of humanity can sometimes bring out the best of humanity. 

As Brussels, Belgium was rocked by multiple terrorist attacks on Tuesday morning, small moments of human emotion were present in the devastation. Also on display, the stark reality of a new age of terror affecting Europe.

As the streets were lined with reminders of the shattering event that had just occurred, mourners gathered in Bourse Square in the capital to honor those who had died. Flowers lay on the pavement, chalk messages of love covered the ground and people held each other.

One man, Lento, who had come to the square to grieve told Mashable: "People came here... to be human again."
