Bryan Cranston played Lyndon B. Johnson in HBO's All The Way, so he's a decent surrogate to decipher what the former president would have to say about this deeply confusing era of our nation.

Cranston won the SAG award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie for his portrayal of Johnson on Sunday. At the podium, the Breaking Bad star imagined what the brash leader would have to say about Trump, who has never had an issue with candor himself.

"I feel that 36 would put his arm around 45 and earnestly wish him success," said Cranston before getting down to business.

"He would also whisper in his ear something he said often as a form of encouragement. And a cautionary tale. 'Just don't piss in the soup that all of us have got to eat.'"

Sounds about right!
