BTS, the current reigning kings of K-pop are also the kings of social media.

Twitter announced on Tuesday that the South Korean boy band tweeted Asia's "golden tweet" of the year, with a video that broke a million in engagement -- 778,000 likes and 374,000 retweets, to be specific.

The video shows one of the boys, Jungkook, asleep while another bandmate stuck a french fry in his mouth.

The seven-man group most recently made its U.S. TV debut at this year's American Music Awards, where it lit up social media after its live performance.

To be accurate, the band's enormous fanbase, which calls itself the "army," is to be credited for its phenomenal engagement online.

BTS has over 10 million followers on Twitter, reaching 3 million in August 2016 -- that means they picked up the latest 7 million in just about a year.

And last month, the Guinness Book of Records crowned the band for having the most Twitter engagements for a music group, averaging 252,000 retweets per tweet.

The accolade is hardly the first time BTS has been recognised for its social media prowess. Last year, Twitter gave the group its own emoji that would be triggered with the hashtag #BTS.

That emoji was a bulletproof vest, with BTS emblazoned on it. Pretty apt, going by the band's invincible status right now.
