You matched with someone online. He's interesting to text with, uses the right amount of emoji, and just asked you to your favorite coffee place.

But then he showed up in a "Make America Great Again" t-shirt, and you have a Bernie 2016 bumper sticker on the back of your Prius. Awkward.

Dating app Bumble released politically themed filters Thursday. Users can overlay their profile pictures with the filters. The aim is to put political dealbreakers on full display.

The filters show support for the Democratic candidates:

Or the GOP candidates:

Or none of the candidates. Users can show support for Kanye 2020, or pizza.

"Political views are more than just current topics, sometimes entire value sets can be tied to political views. It tells you a lot about a person," says Whitney Wolfe, creator and CEO of Bumble, "Think of it as digital bumper sticker."

By knowing if your potential match has similar political views, it's easier to decide if that person is worth pursuing. Or if you don't really care about politics, this is a great way to filter out the people who might bore you with debate recaps.

"The filters work two ways: If you are really basing a relationship on if you have common interests and values with someone, or if you're just looking to have some lighthearted fun" (see the Kanye 2020 sticker), Wolfe says.

Wolfe is an ex-Tinder exec who created Bumble to help people meet "respectfully and competently." Women have to message first and both parties have 24 hours to respond before their match disappears. This is to prevent creeps or forced conversations with someone you accidentally swiped right for.

Bumble's election filter pack is the first of many photo filters to come, says Wolfe.
