'90s kids, rejoice: Captain Planet is flying back to our screens this October -- although sadly not for the reboot we're all secretly longing for.

Mashable can exclusively reveal that the blue-skinned, eco-friendly superhero will cameo in an upcoming episode of Cartoon Network's OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes, premiering Monday, Oct. 9 at 6:30 p.m.

Original series stars David Coburn (Cap himself) and LeVar Burton (Kwame) will reprise their roles for the episode, which, per Cartoon Network, sees the evil Lord Boxman (Jim Cummings) polluting the air around the plaza, prompting K.O. and his friends to combine powers with the iconic superhero.

Get a first look at Captain Planet and Kwame as they appear in OK K.O. below -- looks like Cap started investing in eyelash extensions sometime over the past 20 years.

If this news tickles your nostalgia bone (just go with it), OG Planeteers will be pleased to hear that the first season of Captain Planet launches today on the Cartoon Network app, so you'll have plenty of time to get that earworm theme song stuck in your head before the OK K.O. episode airs on Oct. 9.

Full disclosure: Turner Broadcasting, which owns Cartoon Network, is an investor in Mashable.
