The only way was down.

With rescue efforts continuing in parts of Southern California following the region's epic mudslides, footage of the insane power of the event are still emerging.

Firefighters from Burbank posted a clip to Instagram showing the unlikely sight of a small car skidding down a torrent of gloopy muck. "Urban Prius bobsledding," the caption read, and the video needs to be seen to be believed.

We've reached out to Burbank Firefighters to find out if the driver of the car is OK, but according to multiple comments in the captions, the driver came out just about unscathed and posted his own clip.

On Thursday, video and photos posted to social media showed the mangled remains of several cars, including a full on H3 Hummer, that also paid testament to the brute force of the mud.

The slides are the result of heavy rain earlier in the week hitting vegetation scars from last fall's record-breaking wildfires. The largest, the Thomas Fire, was finally declared 100 percent contained Friday.

A number of people are still believed missing and some 1,250 people are reportedly trying to find them. The mudslides have left at least 17 people dead.
