Casey Affleck responds to sexual harassment allegations: 'There’s really nothing I can do about it'

Casey Affleck's Oscar win wasn't meant to excuse and absolve his 2010 sexual harassment allegations -- but it sure felt like that for some.

“There’s really nothing I can do about it,” Affleck told The Boston Globe regarding the ongoing specter of the allegations. “Other than live my life the way I know I live it and to speak to what my own values are and how I try to live by them all the time.”

“I believe that any kind of mistreatment of anyone for any reason is unacceptable and abhorrent," Affleck said, though it's unclear if he was speaking of the women in the lawsuits or himself. "And everyone deserves to be treated with respect in the workplace and anywhere else.”

The Globe noted that Affleck is legally barred from publicly commenting on the cases, but he's done his best to distance himself from the story and dismiss it as "noise."
