Tough kitty survives scalding hot spin in a washing machine
Cats have nine lives -- and some take advantage of every single one.
Lisa Keefe from Nottingham, England, was walking away from her washing machine the other day when she heard a loud, thudding noise. Noise opened the machine to find her sweet 9-month cat Bobby tucked inside. Bobby, it appears, had snuck into the machine for a cozy little nap, only to find himself violently spinning in water that reached 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
"Bobby has been known to climb into the washing machine, so I always try to keep the door shut and keep him away when adding a new load, and check inside before turning it on," Keefe told The Independent.

When Keefe discovered Bobby, some of his fur had mixed in with a quilt. Keefe immediately took Bobby to Nottingham Pet Hospital, where he was dried, kept warm, and given IV fluids to stay warm.
Within a few hours, he had stabilized and was allowed to go home.
"I think Bobby's learned his lesson the hard way," Keefe told The Independent. "He doesn't go anywhere near the washer any more. But I'm still very careful and triple check before turning it on."
Though Bobby's still recovering, there's a silver lining to his trauma. Bobby has been awarded the legendary PDSA Pet Survivor award, last given to Staffie Ziggy who nearly died by crossbow.
