Celebrities, despite how famous they may be, still need to do normal things.

It's these encounters with celebrities in the real world which have been the subject of discussion on Twitter, with people sharing their most surreal experiences with famous people.

The conversation was started by Michael Segalov, who said he was riding a bucking bronco machine and spotted none other than Hugh Grant sticking his tongue out at him.

People responded to the call with gusto, and sure, there may be some ample use of poetic licence, but the stories are delightful to read. There's a run-in with Quentin Tarantino, who also seemingly likes to ramble to strangers as well.

Or people spotting Bill Nighy doing weird things.

One person even got a reply from comedian Bill Bailey, who apparently stole chocolate.

Anyway, here are a handful of our favourite stories that we've spotted. All are very good.
