'Beauty and the Beast' will include a new Celine Dion song, as if we weren't already excited enough
Celine Dion's heart and voice will go on -- the singer announced Thursday that she would perform a brand-new original song for Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast.
"I am thrilled to announce that I’ll be performing an all-new original song, “How Does A Moment Last Forever,” for Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast. Being a part of the original film was such a magical experience in my life, and I’m truly honored to be a part of this film again," Dion shared on her Facebook page.
The new tune will be composed by Disney vet Alan Menken and Oscar-winning lyricist Tim Rice. Broadway World describes it as "an emotional ballad about holding onto life's precious moments." Apparently clips of it will play throughout the film, before Dion's full version soars over the ending credits.
Dion's most well-known film song is of course 1997's Oscar-winning "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic. She also performed the Academy Award-winning title duet for the Beauty and the Beast animated film in 1991. In the new live-action film, the title track will be performed by Ariana Grande and John Legend.
Beauty and the Beast hits theaters March 17.
