On May 12, the Class of 2018 at Howard University will be getting a visitor from Wakanda.

No, the Black Panther isn't opening a science outreach facility on the Washington D.C. campus — but he is returning to the 'Mecca' and delivering the commencement address to the students crossing the stage with diplomas in hand.

The historically black university is Chadwick Boseman's alma mater, and on Wednesday, they announced that Boseman would be coming back and delivering the commencement address during this year's graduation ceremony. While there, he will also be receiving an honorary degree.

"He has played some of the most iconic African Americans that have transformed history, including Jackie Robinson, James Brown and Howard’s own Thurgood Marshall," Dr. Wayne A. I. Frederick, Howard University president, wrote in a statement. "His recent role in the blockbuster film 'Black Panther' reminds us of the excellence found in the African diaspora..."

In the past few years, Howard students have had President Barack Obama and Senator Kamala Harris grace the stages — and based on the responses to the announcement, this one is just as exciting as previous years.

Time to start practicing your salutes, fellow Wakandans.
