Swiss cheese manicures are the holey grail of nail art
Cheese is the most aesthetically pleasing thing we can think of, so we're not surprised it's oozing into the beauty world.
We're talking, of course, about Swiss cheese manicures, which have been popping up in sizable numbers on Instagram since Tastemade Japan posted a tutorial.
Unfortunately, the nail art is not made with real cheese. Instead, it's created by drilling through acrylic nails (to create those classic Swiss cheese holes) and layering them with yellow, orange and white polish.

A far simpler DIY version has also emerged online. This one eschews the drilling — just remove little "holes" of nail polish with the end of a cotton swab.
This creative soul even added a tiny mouse.
