Of course Chewbacca will appear in Disney's Han Solo movie
Chewie, you're home.
Though we could have guessed as much, it's a comfort to hear from Disney Chairman and C.E.O. Bob Iger that Chewbacca will definitely appear in the company's Han Solo standalone movie.
Iger said as much at the Deutsche Bank 2016 Media, Internet & Telecom Conference Tuesday, calling the upcoming film "an origin story about Han Solo and Chewy."

Chewbacca and Han Solo have been friends for as long as Star Wars fans have known them, and the duo are all but inseparable when it comes to flying garbage spacecraft and fighting nefarious galactic forces.
Beyond that, Chewie's inclusion in the upcoming film (which hasn't even cast its leading scoundrel yet) will give filmmakers and fans an exciting opportunity. How did the smuggler and the Wookie meet? (Also: Are they going to call this movie The Smuggler and the Wookie, or what?)
The untitled Han Solo origin film will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. It is set to release in 2018.
