China Eastern unveils Disney-themed plane for Shanghai Disney opening

Ahead of the Jun. 16 grand opening date for Shanghai's long-awaited Disneyland, Chinese brands have been gearing up to welcome Mickey Mouse and friends to the mainland.

Leading the way is China Eastern Airlines, which unveiled a Disney-themed Airbus A330 aircraft on Monday. Its maiden flight took off from Shanghai on Tuesday morning.

The plane's exterior was painted sky-blue with portraits of Mickey and Minnie Mouse on its side. The plane's tail also bears the iconic Walt Disney logo of Cinderella's Castle.

This is just the first of the Disney-themed planes from China Eastern. The airlines announced that there will be an Enchanted Storybook Castle plane coming up next, as well as other themed planes in the works in the coming years.
