A woman's obsession with looking like Chinese actress Fan Bingbing has apparently gotten so out of hand that her mother has gone on television to threaten to disown her.

The 29-year-old woman named Yu Ning, claims to have spent 800,000 yuan ($123,000) on 20 cosmetic surgery procedures over the course of just two years.

According to Chinese media reports, Yu's 61-year-old mother was extremely distressed by her daughter's constantly-changing appearance, that she agreed to appear on the Thursday episode of "Four to help", a popular Chinese talkshow aired by Dragon TV.

During the emotional confrontation between the mother and daughter, Yu's mother tearfully told the talkshow host and live audience how she barely recognises her daughter now, and that relatives are starting to compare Yu's looks to a "monster."

"Every time I see her, she looks different," she said. "I can hardly recognise her even though I'm her mother."

The situation has apparently gotten so drastic that Yu's mother even threatened to disown her if she didn't put a stop to her obsession.

Yu, who runs a clothing business in China, said that she aspired to look like Fan Bingbing, who is regarded as one of the most beautiful Chinese woman in showbiz now.

Yu also admitted that she started going under the knife in China, but has since moved onto doctors in Seoul -- known as a mecca for cosmetic surgery -- to continue to change her looks.

Yu said she was heartbroken to listen to her mother's comments, but despite the hurt, she remains undeterred in her cosmetic surgery plans.

"My new plan this year is to have a height-lengthening surgery," she told the talkshow host. The surgery procedure requires a lengthy healing period as it will require a surgeon to break one's shin bone to insert implants.

Although Yu's mother broke down into a fresh flood of tears at her daughter's insistence, Yu continued smiling throughout. But she blamed that on her inability to control her facial expressions, as she had recently undergone surgery to curl her lips upwards.
