Chloe and Halle Bailey, known by their legion of fans as Chloe X Halle, first found YouTube fame by covering Beyoncé. Now, the Atlanta-born sister duo are signed to her Parkwood Entertainment label.

And while they were at first known for posting covers to YouTube -- a raw performance of John Legend's "All of Me," an acoustic take on Lorde's "Royals" and a rendition of "Pretty Hurts" that made Beyoncé stop in her tracks -- now, they've got an arsenal of original songs in the form of their five-track debut EP, Sugar Symphony.

Among the part-R&B, part-pop songs is "Drop," which the two performed recently at YouTube Space in New York, where they participated in YouTube's Music Foundry program, an initiative that helps foster up-and-coming stars who found fame on YouTube.

Seventeen-year-old Chloe tells Mashable that "Drop" is "a love song about a song."

She says they came up with "Drop" by deciding on its name first. "The first thing that came to mind was a song you can't get out of your head, but we wanted to make it interesting," she says. "So we personified the song as a person."

"We love being signed to Beyoncé because we have complete creative freedom," Chloe said. "Whatever we desire to do, Parkwood does their best to get it done. I think because Beyoncé is an artist herself, she understands how important it is to let your voice properly be heard. This is an artist's dream. No limits, no constraints, just art."

Halle, who's 16, says it's that freedom that eased their minds when they were about to release original music.

"Originally, we were a bit nervous to release it, because all our fans knew us by was our YouTube covers, and our music is very different," she said. "But with the help of Beyoncé and Parkwood, we perfected what we were working on, and then decided to let it fly free into the world."

So what are they going to let fly next? After selling out their first two shows, they have performances set at the Roots Picnic and The Essence Fest.

Oh, and they hope to have an album out "by the end of this year."
