To binge watch or not to binge watch — that is the question.

Anyone who claims they have never experienced a desire to stay home and watch Netflix in their pajamas, alone — possibly with wine — as opposed to getting dressed and going out in the presence of people is either lying, has not found the right show, or has somehow not yet caved and bought a Netflix subscription (you’re missing out, btw).

Though we take pride when we force ourselves to emerge from a binge-watching coma, on occasion, a show pulls us so far in that we have no choice but to cancel our plans, decline any invites to socialize and continue watching.

Let us assure you, you're not alone. Twelve die-hard binge-watchers shared the times they’ve avoided human interaction to straight up watch Netflix.

1.

“When I first moved to New York I only knew a few people, so when someone invited me out during my first weekend here, it would have made sense to go with them. Being me, I instead came up with a lousy excuse that I had to Skype family members that night, but totally binge watched Gossip Girl —the premiere New York television experience, of course."

2.

"Last Friday night my friend kept calling and texting me asking to hang out but I was in the middle of binging It's Always Sunny so I put her on 'Do Not Disturb.' I feel absolutely no guilt."

3.

"All my friends wanted me to go out and party with them, but I needed to watch Gilmore Girls for the thousandth time! It was the best decision I ever made."

4.

"I was halfway through an episode of Fringe last weekend when I needed to leave to meet some friends. I ended up finishing the episode first. Don't know if my friends approved, but I think they understood."

5.

"When the first season of House of Cards came on Netflix, I didn't socialize with people. I put off everything -- showering, grocery shopping, laundry."

6.

"When I graduated college I was so sad and heartbroken it was over and I was living back in my parents' house so, I told my parents and friends from home I was sick so they wouldn't bother me. I locked myself in my bedroom for three days with my iPad, binge-watching away."

7.

"I once went to a Christmas party three hours late because I was in the middle of binge-watching a horrible Christmas movie on Netflix and absolutely needed to finish it. I lied and told all of my friends I was picking up last minute presents."

8.

"I was supposed to go to my friend's comedy show last night but then I was watching Orange Is The New Black."

9.

"I told my friend I would meet him for drinks one Saturday night. An hour before we were set to meet I texted asking if we could reschedule because a friend was in the middle of a crisis. Little did he know I was talking about Rachel Green and proceeded to watch Friends for five hours."

10.

"Everyone on my team at work was going out to lunch together, but I lied and told them I brought lunch so I could sit at my desk alone and watch The Flash."

11.

"While we were out, a group of friends and I made plans to go to the beach the following day. I agreed, even suggesting which beach we should go to. I mentioned that I had to take my own car, though, since I was going to visit my family on the way home. What seemed like a sincerely invested attempt at socializing was actually a well thought out cover. The next morning I texted the group "I'm throwing up," because I decided I wanted to devote my day to the doctors of Seattle Grace Hospital. I watched 12 episodes of Grey's Anatomy, ordered a generously sized order of crab rangoons, and did not feel even a twinge of guilt. Two days in a row of full recreational human interaction is too much anyways."

12.

"I never avoid my best friend to watch Netflix because Netflix is my best friend. My only friend."

While there's no doubt that binge-watching is great, every once in a while be sure to take your laptop outside with you and get some fresh air, or at least invite a friend to watch with you.
