Today in "news you certainly did not expect," dreamboat Chris Evans is coming to Broadway.
Yes, yes, it's true. We have no idea how we got so lucky, but here we are.
According to Variety, the actor and director will be making his Broadway debut in a Kenneth Lonergan play, Lobby Hero. And wait, it gets better.
The March 2018 production, which will mark the reopening of the newly renovated Helen Hayes Theater, has cast Michael Cera to star opposite Evans.
Scott Pilgrim and Captain America together on stage, versus the world?
Brilliant.
Along with Young Jean Lee's play, Straight White Men -- set to begin in July 2018 -- Lobby Hero is part of the plan to launch programming for Broadway's nonprofit Second Stage Theater.
Evans has proven himself as a Marvel man, and recently starred in the drama Gifted, alongside Mckenna Grace and IRL ex-girlfriend Jenny Slate. He also directed and starred in the 2014 film, Before We Go, so Broadway will be another chance for him to stretch.
