Back at ABC's Television Critics Association day in January, former ABC Entertainment Group President Paul Lee told reporters the next Bachelor or Bachelorette may finally not be Caucasian.
JoJo, who is a real estate developer, is half Iranian.
"My mom is Persian, and my Dad was born and raised in Tennessee," she wrote in her bio for The Bachelor. "I’m proud of my mother’s background despite what social opinions are. It’s important for me to stand up to people stereotyping Iranians."
Harrison announced just minutes after JoJo and Ben had their first interaction since he turned her down on the finale of The Bachelor.

Her journey begins May 23.
Hopefully JoJo's brothers will approve of the new men who will soon be in her life.
Or at least like them more than they liked Ben.
