UPDATE: May 31, 2017, 3:52 p.m. BST Donald Trump eventually deleted the tweet -- and responded with another -- about five hours after the original was posted.

It's now been over four hours since Donald Trump tweeted his already infamous "covfefe" tweet.

By the time it was deleted it had been shared well over 100,000 times:

Obviously there have been plenty of responses, but in the early hours of Wednesday morning Chrissy Teigen came back with what may be one of the greatest.

Glorious.

An hour later, though, she followed it up with this more sobering tweet.

Trump's tweets seem to have that effect on quite a few people: it starts with laughter, and then a wave of grim reality washes in.
