There's no way you could rock around this Christmas tree.

We've all seen the expectation vs. reality photos of online shopping for clothes gone wrong – pants arrive with eight-foot-long legs and dresses look completely different than they did in the photos.

And now, the #fail of a trend is making its way into the Christmas tree market.

Zoe McAllister of Glasgow shared a photo of the artificial Christmas tree she bought without peeking inside the box first – and it looked very different than she was expecting.

"EXPECTATIONS VS. REALITY!! I actually laughed at this 'tree' for about 15 minutes. Looks like I'm off to buy a new tree at the weekend 😂😂😂," she wrote on Facebook.

"I got the tree from my local Argos store," McAllister wrote to Mashable.

"I messaged them a few times on Facebook and then they just said to return it. They returned it with no issues however they did mention a few have been faulty," she said.

But McAllister has no hard feelings – she wound up saving money on a tree this year.

"My brother gave me his old tree as he's just got a new one," she told Mashable.

Hopefully the Christmas presents McAllister receives this year are in better shape than the faulty tree.
