China's biggest viral game this week was an unlikely hit.

Released in conjunction with the country's 19th Party Congress on Wednesday, the game gets you to literally clap as hard as you can to Chinese president, Xi Jinping, as he delivers the Communist Party's plan for the future.

The game (link works on mobile devices only) opens with a short excerpt from Xi's speech, before you're given a 19-second window to tap the screen as furiously as you can in "applause."

It's been played millions of times in just a day.

When the game's over, you're given a score and ranking.

The game has been played millions of times within 24 hours of its release.

Simply titled Clap for Xi Jinping, the game was made by Tencent, one of the country's biggest social media firms, and owner of microblogging giant Weibo.

It's funny thinking about how this crowdsourced, virtual applause for Xi was possibly way more than he got IRL at his lengthy 3.5 hour speech.

Leaders in attendance yawned and dozed off during the marathon event.

Jiang Zemin, former president of China through the '90s, captured media attention as he checked his watch throughout the speech.

The summit on Wednesday was massively important to the government. Held once every five years, it's a meeting where the government lays out its plan, and reshuffles leadership roles.

Much of the country's activities were paused for Xi's televised 3.5 hour speech, with young children in school made to sit for the broadcast, as well.
