Introducing cloud eggs, coming to a brunch near you

Don't we have enough ways to make eggs

There are just too few ways to eat an egg, am I right? You can crack it in a pan to fry it up and...that's pretty much it.

So how fortunate we are to have a brand new egg trend on the horizon, because we definitely needed it.

Introducing cloud eggs, a technique where you whisk the egg whites until they become fluffy and then bake them to form a cloud-like pillow for the egg yolk.

This instructional video is from over a year ago, but cloud eggs have only come into the spotlight recently, making the rounds of Twitter and Instagram.

We suppose it's about that time to ask that one question we ask of every single new trend: Is this necessary?

After all, eggs are eggs are eggs. And just in case you didn't pick up on our sarcasm at the beginning, there are already a billion different ways to eat them. Do we really need another way, especially one that takes so much work?

Or here's an idea that we don't like talking about: Are we just doing this for the pics?

While we don't really get this cloud egg business, we understand that there are people out there that get very excited by trends like this. To those people, we don't want a cloud to come and rain on your parade. Or wait, in this case I guess we do?

Whatever the case is we hope you enjoy your eggs, whether they are cloudy or just plain scrambled.
