This year, Comic-Con showgoers will take a little bit of Leonard Nimoy with them.

A stark blue, black and white portrait of the late actor, who played Star Trek's Vulcan science officer Spock on and off for nearly 50 years, will be featured on the cover of this year's San Diego Comic-Con event guide.

Created by artist Ty Mattson, Nimoy's portrait is actually one of dozens of pieces of Star Trek-related art that will be on display in July at the Michael J. Wolf Gallery in San Diego. That show also features one of Nimoy's last pieces of photographic art. He died in 2015.

The art show and now this Comic-Con event guide, are designed to commemorate 50 years of Star Trek. The show premiered on September 8, 1966 on NBC. The franchise is now owned by CBS Consumer Products.

San Diego Comic-Con kicks off on July 21 and runs through July 24. Conference attendees will find hundreds of pages of event information under Nimoy's iconic visage, which means they'll probably be carrying a little bit of Star Trek wherever they boldy go.
